Here I am, that's my first journal after... 11 months on DeviantArt XD So, there must be something important to say if I write here, right? No, that's wrong, that's not so important XD But I'm too happy!!! Yesterday and the day before I was in Terra del Sole, an italian town near Forlì, for a medieval reenactment. It was a festival organized by my reenactment association, and we prepared all in only one month. We invited some groups and merchants from Italy and Europe. It was a festival devoted to reenactors, but it was insteresting also for common people. It consisted on life in the camp and battles among the groups.
The first day I arrived in the afternoon, because of school, of course (Philosophy, Pedagogy, Art and History classes... ). I stayed with my mates and other guys of the Genoese group- we stole the flags from our camps eachother- until evening, then we cooked and eat together. There was also a funny play in the camp of the actors, but I could see only a pair of scenes because it was cold and I prefered to stay near the fire... It was nearly midnight when all the groups met and one of my mates prepared the "alliance sandwiches" (two sandwiches made of four giant slices of bread each with almost everithing inside XD)while the Genoese guys gave us all the "friendship chalice" (a big glass of beer). All merchants and reenactors ate and drank, until the sandwiches finished and the chalice broke...
The day after there was a battle among the groups, and our capitain started to talk about it when we were dining. After a few minutes the strategy was totally changed... XD When the battle started, a lot of people came to see the soldiers fight, and most of them appreciated it. Our group won 6-0! XD Amazing... Unfortunately one of my mates hurt himself with a lance, but it was nothing serious.
After the battle we stayed together until evening again, then we had to left the festival. Some reenactors said that was really a beautiful festival (it was the first time we organized a similar event!). We are all very proud of that. We hope to repeat this experience as soon as possible, we worked hard but all was repayed seeing smiles and hearing compliments of people.
